[QUOTE=gravnov;18505079]I did a test booking on Eaglerider`s Website and a three week rental period (including one way fee, model guarantee, insurance, taxes etc.) summs up to 5000 $.
My plan will cost me roundabout 4500 $ and (I have to admit) a innumerable amount of time organizing all that stuff.
And $500 isn’t worth your time, hassle and worry free piece of mind?? A lot of different logistics involved in your plan ,any number of which could pose problems....
If this is legit....rent the bike and enjoy the trip!
if you talk to eagle rider directly they’d likely do better than the $5k quoted online....
UPS Store locations offer mailbox service with a real address, not a PO box. Maybe that would work for what you need. Here is the website - I picked a location near Dulles airport, but they have locations all over the US.
Cant we extend our courtesy to you that we give our neighbors to the south and let you ride without it lol?
Not an extended courtesy nor are we riding without insurance while visiting the US. Our bikes are registered and insured in Canada but that coverage follows and remains with us regardless of where we are. Likewise US to Canada. We dont have to change or add anything insurance wise.
id be surprised the ops German insurance doesnt work the same way. Perhaps the insurance that the op requires is related to shipping insurance...idk
I bet there is a Nigerian Prince or two that will do it and give them a check to cash on top of that.
Seriously, 2019, I get all my Insurance documents and Certificates over the INTERNET.
I'd even be willing to bet the LOCAL HD shop might write and sell a short term policy - not cheap, but a possibility.

The forms and ID's will need to be officially notarized/certified and only then I can apply for an insurance...no time for this procedure.

There is no german/european insurance, which covers a privately operated vehicle in the US.
This is exactly the company, I`m dealing with for weeks.
The link, you have posted is obsolete. Let me explain: years ago, FERNET.com offered DAIRYLAND insurance for overseas travellers driving in the US. Everything was fine, but in spring 2018 the European Personal Data Protection Regulations became effective and DAIRYLAND went out of this business. FERNET.com tried hard to find a solution and presented PROGRESSIVE insurance as a partner for travel insurance, but now, they do not accept any longer a company, hotel, mailbox address, general delivery address etc...
