I rode BTP in August/September 6/7 years ago. We were very fortunate in that nothing was closed. Rode up and over no issues. It gets chilly up top as others mentioned but unless you stop for extended periods for pics its a non issue with a fairing. I had heated grips and wore a hoodie under my riding jacket. To me it was like riding through a cold snap.

Another vote for Alpine Lodge from me. When we stayed the owned cooked a made to order breakfast for each individual. Looks like its been renovated since I was there. Good people.

Expect 40 degrees with rain for an entire day. It will be the best memory of the trip.
