Did a solo trip last September from So. Cal to Montana (7 states) went thru Bear pass via Pocatello (a tough 320 miles) and stayed at the south end town at the Red Lodge Inn - owned by a nice young family of four. My room was completely remodeled- simple -
but Clean!
I loved the fact that is was friendly and could park my bike in front of the room.
I will just tell you that I have been out here 5 times. I just got back Sunday. I try to find a different road each time going out or coming back and its just amazing scenery. This is a must see. One road I did find find out of Worland I will go through Matteetsee all over again. The road is great and less vehicles. The Big Horns are spectacular also.
One of the members sent me this yesterday. "No bands no venders are playing at sturgis". He had canceled his trip. just passing along what he said. Might check it out.
No trucks/semis allowed on the CJ, Some folks miss it as they're focused on the Beartooth.
I had a few PBRs at the Blue Ribbon Bar in Red Lodge, but Cody was more my flavor, its also a good launch point for day rides into Yellowstone.
If you're going this far you really should drop south into the Tetons too. Head through Jackson Hole down to Jackson. I was told....many 'famous' people have homes in/around Jackson so was not cheap to stay. Good ride nonetheless
