FWIW and IMO only, ALL roads in West Virginia are FUN and GORGEOUS!! 'cept for the fact, while on "them there" backroads, I often hear the music to Deliverance.

Road Hwy 120 from Yosemite Valley over High Sierras Tioga Pass and Tuolumne Meadows to Hwy 395 Lee Vining is usually closed until Memorial Day weekend. Check road conditions. If open take 120 to 395 Lee Vining north to South Lake Tahoe then Carson City to Reno.
If 120 Tioga Pass not open then Take Yosemite Valley 120 to Groveland to Sonora Hwy 49 Gold Discovery Hwy. 49 north through Angels Camp to Jackson. High Sierra Hwy 88 over Carson Pass to Hwy 89 to South Lake Tahoe, Carson City, Reno. This is actually my favorite route.Route Reno to the California Redwoods & PCH and Las Vegas:

Reno to California Redwoods:
Rent / Hwy 395 Susanville / Hwy 36 Mount Lassen / Hwy 44 Redding / Hwy 299 / Hwy 101 / Redwoods Natl Park.
