Lots of quaint towns as you get further into the hills, and all of them will have places to eat...even if it's takeout.
An example:
89 south from Winchester to McKee
421 south to Rt 30
Rt 30 east (actually northeast) Rt 11
11 north to Beattyville
Have lunch at Brenda's BBQ Smoke Shack
From here to can either take....
52 east to Jackson, then 15 north to the Bert Combs Mountain Parkway / Campton
The BCMP west back to Winchester
11 north to the BCMP at Slade
The BCMP west back to Winchester
Countless variations on that theme. Have a great ride.

Last year (2019) I shipped my bike from the Netherlands to Newark NJ and made a 4 week 3,650 miles trip in the eastern part of the USA..
Here's a part of that trip heading east on US50 in WV I remember well because that day (2019-06-09) a deer jumped out of the wood and crossed the road just 10 feet in front of me.... Added to the new map

If you're visiting Europe and interested in American WW2 history try to ride/drive Liberation Route (La Voie de la Liberté) in France.
The route starts in France, on Utah beach, and ends in Bastogne, Belgium (passing briefly though Luxembourg). Its around 712 miles long (1,146 kilometers) long.
The mileposts along the route are known as bornes. It follows the approximate route that General Pattons 3rd Army took during the Liberation of France.
My father served in WWII and was in many of the areas of France that you have marked. My maternal grandfather was from Colmar, France and I have been there on a genealogy search, but now, I may have to look into going back again and follow the route you have mapped here, in honor of my father.
Thank you for all of your hard work updating the maps.

Terrie,
In what unit, when and where was your father deployed to France? Some US units came in june 1944 during the D-Day operation at the Normandy beaches.
Other US units entered France in august in the Provence.
If you are interested I could help you find some more WW2 info.
Here's a link to some info on Operation Dragoon
