Great initiative Mark!

I'll add some Arkansas Rds for starters -

123 starting at the intersection of 74 (north of Mt Judea) and all the way south to Haggarville (added to the new map)

74 from Huntsville east to Hwy 123 (mentioned above) (added to the new map)

23 south from Eureka Springs ( a great place to lodge) south to Cass. Southern part is the famed "Pig Trail". (added to the new map)

215 (north of Cass) east through Oark (Oark General store is a great place to eat) and east to 21. (added to the new map)

21 north from 215 to Kingston (added to the new map)

That's a good start

Found this route info in another thread and added it to the map....

Lots of quaint towns as you get further into the hills, and all of them will have places to eat...even if it's takeout.

An example:
89 south from Winchester to McKee
421 south to Rt 30
Rt 30 east (actually northeast) Rt 11
11 north to Beattyville
Have lunch at Brenda's BBQ Smoke Shack
From here to can either take....

52 east to Jackson, then 15 north to the Bert Combs Mountain Parkway / Campton
The BCMP west back to Winchester

11 north to the BCMP at Slade
The BCMP west back to Winchester

Countless variations on that theme. Have a great ride.

Last year (2019) I shipped my bike from the Netherlands to Newark NJ and made a 4 week 3,650 miles trip in the eastern part of the USA..
Here's a part of that trip heading east on US50 in WV I remember well because that day (2019-06-09) a deer jumped out of the wood and crossed the road just 10 feet in front of me....

The route starts in France, on Utah beach, and ends in Bastogne, Belgium (passing briefly though Luxembourg). It’s around 712 miles long (1,146 kilometers) long.
The mileposts along the route are known as “bornes.” It follows the approximate route that General Patton’s 3rd Army took during the Liberation of France.

Additional info to be found through this link

In Bastogne (Belgium) you will find 101st Airborne Division Museum, the Bastogne War Museum and the Mardasson WWII American Soldiers Memorial

My father served in WWII and was in many of the areas of France that you have marked. My maternal grandfather was from Colmar, France and I have been there on a genealogy search, but now, I may have to look into going back again and follow the route you have mapped here, in honor of my father.

Thank you for all of your hard work updating the maps.

Terrie,
In what unit, when and where was your father deployed to France? Some US units came in june 1944 during the D-Day operation at the Normandy beaches.
Other US units entered France in august in the Provence.
If you are interested I could help you find some more WW2 info.
Here's a link to some info on Operation Dragoon
