I'm planning a trip in 2021 that will include riding the Tail of the Dragon.
I plan on staying in the area for perhaps 3 days and riding a few of the area's roads not just the Dragon.
I'm researching lodging options and I'm seeing that the Tail of the Dragon Motorcycle resort seems to be the place to stay.
Since my Son and I will be traveling almost a 1000 miles to get there I figure why not just stay there.
However I like my beer and it appears that is an area where-as there's no beer sales or may even be a dry County.
Does anyone know if this is correct because if it is I guess staying elsewhere.

This place has changed a lot since I Was there. Park your bike INSIDE YOUR garage beside ur room. Steakhouse is new. I heard was GOOD as well. (Likely has beer.) Etc...
I've stayed in Cherokee ... Rented a really nice place for a week ( 4 bedroom / 4 bath ) ... Yep, it's dry but it's a short hop to Bryson City and the IGA ( about 8 miles ) ... We made a ride every afternoon to "refresh" the refrigerator ... Definitely do it again ... Hint, always ask about a paved driveway, some of the hills can be very tough to negotiate
There was room for 4 scooters on the covered porch
Stay in Gatlinburg walk right to all thye booze you want. Even legal moonshine. When you sober up a great ride to the dragon and missing link bridge. keep going moonshiners 28 or head over to maggie valley then loop back home for the night.
As I recall the Dragon is in a dry county....
We like to stay down the road in Bryson City....

Half way between Bryson, and Cherokee
Good restaurants in town, and a short ride to Dragon, Cherohala, Hellbender(now Moonshiner), foothills, and Blue Ridge Parkway

Gattlinburg is a major tourist trap ( I know many towns around there are ) ... I've never been there when it wasn't a pain in the a$$ to get around ... Weekends weekdays whatever
