Always wanted to go. Herd it has gone to Hell as of late. Still worth considering or should I consider a different destination

On the way home from our recent ride and week long stay near Pigeon Forge we stayed Friday night, at the beginning of Memorial Day weekend, at the downtown Hilton. As you might imagine it was really crowded in the downtown Broadway area, clearly not the most ideal time to be there but we went out early, got some great dinner and visited the Johnny Cash Museum before it got too crazy down there.

The Johnny Cash Museum was in sight from our hotel window.

We were just there about three weeks ago. It has changed a lot, but still one of the best party towns in the USA. We like to stay in the Hilton downtown across the street from the Country Music Hall of Fame. We have been there on the bike, they will let you self park in their underground parking garage, very safe and out of the elements. You want to walk, very hard town to stay sober in. Music starts at about 11:00 AM and I am not sure when they ever stop?!?!?! Most bars are three floors or more, literally will have three bands going all at the same time, in the afternoon on a week day. Disneyland for adults that like a good time and great music. Give yourself a couple of days, then get out before you need to go to meetings.

Expensive place to stay. I tried to find a hotel near Nashville late on Friday (6/18/21) afternoon during a bike trip down South. I normally call my wife (at home) when I'm about an hour before stopping for the evening. She call around the west side of Nashville all the way out to the intersection of I-40 and I-840. Rates were about $250-300 and most were booked up. My advice: book rooms well in advance.
