Slight thread resurrection. Im going to plan an early spring ride to Robbinsville (or anyplace in the vicinity that suits) to ride these roads.
Itll either be a solo ride, unless my deployed riding buddy is here long enough into early spring, then its two scoots headed west out of eastern NC.
My preferences for accommodations are old school motor lodges where you can park right in front of your room with enough civilization nearby for meals and beverages.
Suggestions? Thanks.
The Two Wheel Inn in Robbinsville, they even have a dedicated room for your motorcycle if you choose to use it.
Ive stayed at IronHorse twice in 2020 and once last year. Stayed overnight last year at Two Wheel Inn. Nice place and cheaper then IronHorse if thats a concern to you.

We just stayed at Highland Manor in Townsend this weekend. Not new or fancy, but clean and nice. Owner was nice, room was fine, not crowded, and you can park right in front of your room door. Hell, you could probably roll your bike into the room were you so inclined.
Starting to think about a solo 2-3 night run out that way first week in June. Aside from rain, the weather should be predictably agreeable by then, by western NC standards.
I was going to wait till first week in June to make a trip to Robbinsville, but the traveling weather got here early this year. Might go early next week if I can get a room.
