Default Robbinsville NC trip
My wife and I are heading to Robbinsville NC Oct 4-8 to take in some of the roads (the Dragon, Cherhola Skyway, BRP etc). We've had the reservations for six months. Just checked the weather forecast for the area next week, thunderstorms predicted all week. Maybe we can find some gaps in the weather. Ah well we have rain gear.

The weather in the smokies is unpredictable but can be beautiful.

I've been in 46 of the 50 states ... pretty sure I got wet in every one of them ... Make the most of it and have a great trip

If you have time or need to sit out the rain, you should take a few hours and tour the Wheels Thru Time Museum in Maggie Valley.

I’m leaving Little Switzerland in the morning. The motel lobby has these “I survived 226-A” teeshirts. I didn’t buy one, but I guess I’ll ride 226-A in the morning. Just 12miles. How bad could it be.

I'm in Robbinsville now and the past 3 days were gorgeous except for fog in the mornings. Very few bikers during the week. I hope you get some nice weather even if they call for rain. Leaf peepers have not arrived and clogged the roads yet yet as the colors are barely changing as of this week.

According to Google Maps, the 226 - 226A loop looks like fun. I'll have to try it next time I'm up that way.

Be sure to ride Wayah road. It runs from the Robbinsville area over to Franklin NC.
