Just a little update on the hospitality and adult beverage situation in Graham county, where much of what we are talking about is located. They are no longer the last dry county in NC as of this past November 2021. They voted in approval for beer and wine, but only in the city limits of Robbinsville, if I understand correctly. There was also vague reference to past special approvals for one or more “resorts” to serve beer and wine that were well outside of town.
I’ve ridden the Dragon a couple of times but it was busy and I always got hung up behind folks that slowed me down and sucked some of the fun out of it.
My wife and I drove it:-). OK, we were on a business trip and in our Prius, but I figured it would be the only time I got that Far East (I was right), so we drove it. Didn't bother getting the picture but I did get a hat:-).
Heading that way Wednesday night, will be there Thursday/Friday....looks like rain on the way there....some nice weather when we are there, and the a cold welcome in Detroit when we get back Sunday.

C-Buzz my 'ole friend, you likely know this so, this really is for others who may be unsuspecting, new to the Dragon or new to riding in general.
The Tail of the Dragon is heavily leaved. If it rains and the Dragon gets soaked, those leaves have the effect of Black Ice. Of course, you never want to hit Black Ice. And doing so on the Dragon is not going to be good for anyone.

White ice is fine.....we put it in our drinks....skate on it....it looks cool hanging from the eaves.
A busload of nuns, orphans, and puppies goes off the side of a cliff....the cause....black ice.
Am I reading into this too much....or maybe just stirring it up?
