Next time I go to the prison cemetery in Huntsville tx i take plenty of pix. I work for TDCJ for 3 so it holds a special place in my heart lol. There are soke really hold plots there
I stop at them for sure- rural ones when I'm looking to pull over for a break anyway. They're quiet and and interesting.
A local one out in the country here sadly has a bunch of children in it (from 1920s), I assume some kind of disease swept through. Its always humbling to stop there.
In Sara Ann, West Virginia I've stopped at the Hatfields (vs McCoys) cemetery. It was a bit eerie as there was a hand-painted sign stating you were being recorded etc as people steal or vandalize at the site.

Cemeteries can be very interesting but I'd rarely stop at any where I don't have relatives buried. However, we actually just got home from an overnight ride to Tonopah NV where we stayed at the "world famous" Clown Motel. So as you may know, or have guessed, the creepy clown thing and haunting is the theme (or perhaps more appropriately, schtick) here. The town's early cemetery is directly next door and is undoubtedly the strangest and saddest cemetery I've ever seen. I found myself wondering if it was actually real but it supposedly is.
Before I type anymore let me say that although it's a fun stop as an odd roadside attraction, I don't recommend staying at the Clown Motel. Not because it's creepy or haunted, but because it's a real dump! When we checked into out room we found the tub faucet broken off and lying in the tub. The manager moved us to the room next door that looked ok but in the morning I discovered that the shower faucet in that room didn't work either. I figured it was part of the schtick but my wife didn't think so.
