Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face. - Mike Tyson
We did Texas a couple of years back and Rushmore last year. This was the year for us to see the east coast, Maine down to PA, but Mom and Dad had some health issues this year that took a lot of my PTO. I am glad to be there for them when they need me.
We managed to do a few long weekends, TN, MO, and WI and some nice long day trips amounting to about 15k miles total since March.
I have a plan for next year. I'll get there, eventually.

It's been the first year I haven't taken a trip in probably 7 or 8 years, just local riding. I usually take 2. Weather sucked in t he spring and summer.
Hoping to get one in before the years up.
Always do about 12-14k but this year things just kept me from riding
We did bike week and 1 week in Maine[rain 2 days] that was my long rides, rest were weekends of 400-600 miles and not many of them
Next year looking forward to a good 2-3 week trip, either south to the Smokies or Sturgis area[ not rally time]
I did both of these rides this year. Maggie Valley/Smokies in August and just got back from South Dakota/Wyoming. They are both excellent rides with beautiful scenery and roads to ride. I stayed in Maggie Valley to avoid the Gatlinburg traffic and Keystone in South Dakota. Keystone is a gem of a city and centrally located to most of the best rides. Have fun on your trips, you will love them both!
Sometimes life gets in the way, nothing you can do about it but move forward. I haven't gotten to ride as much as I'd like due to health issues and work. I reckon there is always next year!

I hope your health issues gets resolved and you get the opportunity to ride more next year Josh. Like most Im sure, work always keeps me busy as well but its amazing how much less stressed I am after getting a chance to ride.
