Hey guys.........
I will be riding thru WV & Virginia October 5-10. Part of my trip plan is to ride Skyline Dr from Front Royal to Staunton.
I have heard from a couple of folks that SKD has some closures / detours. Can any of you confirm?
If there are closures, do you know about where along the route they might be?

I rode that route a few weeks back. Nothing to concern yourself with other than the leaf lookers coming in from DC and Northern VA. Watch for deer and the occasional bear this time of year too, otherwise enjoy.

 

My wife son and I were on skyline drive this weekend (in a car) and did not see any closures in the Central District.

It's a beautiful drive, but sloooowwww going. Speed limit is 35. So be sure to plan for that. And leaf lookers clogging up the works.

 

Yep 35mph ... and when I've been there they were rigorously enforcing it ... Have a great ride
