Here in Milwaukee it was 16 degrees, back in the NY hometown 3 feet of snow today.
3/4 helmets work well in the cold, my ears got too cold years ago, I got to cover them if it’s chilly now

yeah, weve been fortunate in our valley to only get handful of snow storms every season for the past 10 years. I have ridden in mid teens weather. Anything colder, good luck starting your bike in an unheated garage, lol.

Back 20+ years ago (in my snowmobiling days) one fo the guys in our group (no s**t) had a head so large that was nicknamed "the head" that he could not find a FF Modular helmet that would fit him!
He always used an old 3/4 with a fixed snap-on face shield.
On one our "super-cold", cross-country rides. part of his face was :drooping so badly that he looked like he had suffered a stroke!
Before our next ride "Mr. Tough Guy" purchased a fur-lined mask/neck dickey that protected both his neck and lower half of his face and even he admitted that the previous incident had scared him enough that he had to search for more protection from the wind and cold!
