A few of us rode to galveston on 09-11 from Port Arthur. Had lunch at the Joe's Crab Shack on the Wharf. Food was good, and a great price for the lunch special (13.95 with tea for all you could eat shrimp}. We got got caught in the beginning of Tropical Storm Humberto on the way home. When you ride the ferry, theattendants always seem to put the bikes on the outside lane, which means more salt spray when the water is rough. There where quite a few dolphins chasing the boats in the bay.
For those of you who are comming from theHouston side and want to ride the ferry, there a an area to park and walk on the boats. This way, your bike is not subjected to the salt spray . There are two othere resturants on the Wharf that serve good food, and make a good place to get out the insanity if you are there for the Lonestar Ralley. Remeber that drinking and driving is bad, but drinking and riding a bike is just plain dumb.
