Leaving tomorrow, driving all night. Weather is iffy, and I see there's a detour around the Blue Ridge, but other than that, all is good. Stripperella is coming with me, so we're bringing the Harleys. I'm hoping for at least one good full day to do the loop. If the weather is bad, I hear there's a neat antique car/bike museum in Maggie Valley, which is only about 70 miles from where we're staying (Deal's Gap Resort).
Have a good trip. Heard the Wheels Through Time Museum is moving. Don't think they've moved yet. It's about an all day thing, seeing everything, we enjoyed it. Checkon line first.
Everone wants to do the Dragon, as well you should. But do youself a favor and make damn sure you hit the Cherohala Skyway. The Dragon takes all of an hour if you take your time (yeah it's overrated), once across it you will have plenty of time to do the loop. And yes by all means take in the Wheels thru Time museum. You're goin' to be busy
The dragon is great, we went the first time last summer. But as other people said, please don't miss all the other wonderful rides in the area. It is the most beautiful scenery we have ever seen and the riding is awesome!! But I tell you what, it's going to be COLD up there in March. Better bring everything you can possibly wear to keep you warm. The Wheels Through Time museum is absolutely amazing. Here's my account of the area if you have time to read. Enjoy your trip! http://rveverywhere.blogspot.com/200...har-hills.html
It was 15 Celsius, which is beautiful in our books.
Back safe & sound. Only had a bit of rain, although a fair bit of wet pavement. Stripperella got her Dragonslayer wings without incident. Had a good time, and drank a ton of booze after. Met some new friends, and had a good time.
