I am goingto Boston in August and was wondering if a person was going to go out around Cape Cod would it be worth spending a couple days around there and the islands. Would the traffic be real nuts from Wed to Friday or tolerable? Is there somewhere to stay out there that is reasonable or am I better off to stay inland overnight. Just asking the typical tourist questions. Thanks in advance. LT
PS Still 3 feet of snow in my yard, summer mat never get here!!
If you just want to say you have been to the cape...then ride on out 5 miles or so and then turn around...it doesn't change. Use the time to go almost anywhere else in New England..there are so many beautiful areas with great ride potential....after you save that day, use it to ride across Route 2 westbound until you overdose for instance. John
The cape is nothing but one big tourist trap. I would ride north to costal NH or Maine or south to RI. There are great places to stay, eat and ride regardless of which way you go.
You'd be better off heading North to New Hampshire. Take a ride up Mt. Washington, Kancamagus Highway (Route 112), Franconia Notch, Crawford Notch and the list goes on.
Forget the Cape. All you do is sit in traffic. Besides it's so over rater.
seems unanimous, i am from the east coast of Canada and have been through all the back roads of Maine, NH, Vermont etc. Going to be in Boston anyway so i was just checking on the cape as i was never out there before. guess i will do my business in Boston for a couple days and head for the hills and not spend much time around the coast. Thanks guys, LT
