Cape Cod?
I am goingto Boston in August and was wondering if a person was going to go out around Cape Cod would it be worth spending a couple days around there and the islands. Would the traffic be real nuts from Wed to Friday or tolerable? Is there somewhere to stay out there that is reasonable or am I better off to stay inland overnight. Just asking the typical tourist questions. Thanks in advance. LT
PS Still 3 feet of snow in my yard, summer mat never get here!!

I've lived in Boston and the surrounding area all my life and never been a fan of the Cape.
In fact I'd say it's the most over rated place in New England.
I've got family and friends that love the area but it never did it for me.
Lastfall a good friend of mine invited a few of us down to his summer home for the week end to "ride the cape". I was reluctant but went along.
I have to say I had an excellent time but the weather, food, company and over all timing were perfect.
There isn't a whole lot of ridding to be had. You can ride most of the cape in a day.
If your going to be down there anyway ride theCape but if your in Massachusettsor any were else in New EnglandI wouldn't wasteyour timethere.

If you just want to say you have been to the cape...then ride on out 5 miles or so and then turn around...it doesn't change. Use the time to go almost anywhere else in New England..there are so many beautiful areas with great ride potential....after you save that day, use it to ride across Route 2 westbound until you overdose for instance. You'd be better off heading North to New Hampshire. Take a ride up Mt. Washington, Kancamagus Highway (Route 112), Franconia Notch, Crawford Notch and the list goes on.
Forget the Cape. All you do is sit in traffic. Besides it's so over rater.
Just my .02

seems unanimous, i am from the east coast of Canada and have been through all the back roads of Maine, NH, Vermont etc. Going to be in Boston anyway so i was just checking on the cape as i was never out there before. guess i will do my business in Boston for a couple days and head for the hills and not spend much time around the coast. Thanks guys, LT
