Go to mt washington. There is a motel in henniker,nh at the base of a ski resort pats peak ski resort. Nice clean and cheap place, nice guy that owns it. wife and i stayed there for laconia bike week. Check out north conway cool town i would stay there.
I live in NHConcord area. Riding the country roads in both states is good. Mornings in Oct can be below freezing then warm up to 60's and 70's.
My favorite riding is in Vermont and the Lake Champlain Valley. If you want a more detailed idea, then EMAIL me.

the White Mountains in nh\\; if you come up I-93, get off at Lincoln and go to the visitors center (its very well run) for ideas...and a second vote for Mt Washington (on a clear day).
