I have a question about Oatman.

Is there a paved road from Oatman to Bullhead or Laughlin? I see on my Auto Club map that there is a graded dirt road but not paved.

I realize I can get to Oatman from the south via Route 66, but I didn't want to have to backtrack south in order to go north into Laughlin.

We're leaving for the Run on Thursday a.m. and probably doing our own ride to the Grand Canyon on Friday.

Yes there is a paved road that leads from Oatman to the AZ 95. It will bring you out just south of Bullhead, about 4 miles south of the road that takes you over the bridge at the Avi. The name of the road is Oatman rd or Boundary Cone rd.

We are up for an Oatman and canyon ride.........So keep us in mind. We would rather go with other forum members then alone.

I thought Oatman was only accessable from route 66 in either direction, unless your driving a 4X4 or other offraod vehicle, but not being very familier with the area I could be wrong.

Oatman rd joins up w/ Route 66 just a few miles south of Oatman at the pointed mountain. If you come from the south on 66 you'll see the roads join( it's the only road that meets up w/ it). It is 13 miles from Oatman to the 95 going this way. It is the only way I have ever taken ( I live 17 miles from Oatman).

this map shows the road as the 153

My wife is on her way to meet me in No. Calif for a long weekend in Yosemite (bad planning on my part!)...

She's been sending me pics of all the bikers she's beens seeing (using her cell phone) ... and now just got off the phone with her, and she says there are hundreds of scooters making the pilgrimage to Laughlin.

We're going next year for SURE!!

Had an awesome time at the River Run. One guy from our group and myself made the trek out to Grand Canyon. I put 1320 miles on the bike for the weekend. Pretty respectable in my book. Here is a photo of the canyon. I shot it in Sepia to give it the aged look.
