natchez trace
Great trip. the whole road is a national park. to go to a business you have to exit and get back on. Very little traffic and lots of interesting pull offs with historical interest. I'm gonna do it again.
We have made the ride between Tupelo and Natchez several times. There is lots of pull offs, some nature trails and restrooms
A couple of things to note no gas you must leave the Trace to get gas so plan ahead and after dark the critters come out in force so be careful.
Good luck Kris & Marilyn 2008 Ultra

The Trace is not the most exciting road but of all the places i've been it's probably the most peaceful.....
We rode the whole thing last July and came across maybe 20 cars and 15 bikes in 444 miles. There are not many roads around like that anymore.......

Pros: probably too many to mention, but all the obvious ones! No commercial vehicles, no signs, lots of scenery, etc.
Cons: you gotta learn to relax and slow down on this one. This isn't a road for speed freaks or junkies who like to make time. You have to unwind your mind and your right wrist, step back in time, and enjoy a slower pace. After all, just like on the Blue Ridge Parkway, the speed limit's 45!
Get out there and do it!

Did the Trace a couple of years ago in September, it is a very nice slow scenic ride. The speed limit is usually 50 mph and 40 in some places and they seem to be very serious about it. I rode it on a couple of weekdays and I probably didn't see 15 cars the whole trip, just almost had the road to my self. They did have a random license stop at one point, a couple of Park Service leos and a State officer just checking licenses, they made sure to check the motorcycle endorsement. It is not a twisty, but plenty of pull outs and scenery.
