Left yesterday morning to tour the upper states and into Canada. Had to get home for personal reasons,so I turned around. Left at 6 am and returned at 2 am today. Made it just shy of Fargo ND 1250 miles from door to door in 20 hrs. I have to check the Garmin and see all the specs on the trip, I believe it was an average of 62 mph with stops. The last 300 miles were a killer. Beside from a slight headache and two numb fingers on my right hand I feel pretty good. I do need to add a drink holder. The Nolan helmet I have with the bluetooth phone was a great thing to have. The only casualty that I know of (haven't washed the bike yet) was my factory radio volume went out at around 900 miles, secound one in a month with the same problem, since I added the Hog Tunes eye pod speakers, I already have the rest of their system on the bike.NOt sure what is happening?
Wow. That's a lot of miles in a day. More than I'd want to do, although sounds like you had limited options. Glad you made the trip relatively unscathed
Dam thats a Better than a saddlesore 1K, were you soloing it or with a group. Either way thats a heck of an accomplishment even if it was unexpected. I know that feeling of the last couple hundred miles but you can at that point see the light at the end of the tunnel.
No it was solo, ya the last part of the ride with no radio, darkness, cold and the rain didn't help matters. I was wearing HD heated gear and it apperas to be water resistant, plus with the wind around the bike it kinda blew around me. I was just to lazy to pull over and put on the rain suit. The thought of being in my own bed.......kinda kept me pulling for home, however at about the 2-3 hour mark a few of the hotels were looking pretty dam good! The bummer like I mentioned is the numbness I have in my thumb and pointer finger , which wasn't there last night. Getting off the bike to gas every 110 miles alos helped for the sore AZZ that would start at about the same mileage. Wish I would have documented it for a Iron Butt 1000
If you have any gas or toll receipts with time stamps you can use them for documentation on the saddlesore. But with or without its still quite an accomplishent to ride that far in one day. If you were wearing tight gloves they can cause numbness after a while at least in my experience. What was your original plan?

Reason: grammar
I met some guys on the forum and they talked about Moose Jaw, also I met a few Canadians that are on this forum. So I figured I would take a week and tour that section of Canada. Didn't work out. O'well I wanted to always seen what a distance ride would be like. Couple guys were taking about taking a 3 day round around the lake this weekend, maybe I'll do that. Picked up some HD heated gear and it works great.

Your first clue about Saskatchewan is "Moose Jaw" I lived a lifetime one year in Sask ---man if you think there is something to see there you have been misinformed---it is as flat a **** on a plate and just as interesting.
