Most of Chippewa's engineer boots are made in Missouri, although I have seen some made in China. Most of their lace-up boots are made in China.
Their engineer and harness boots all have a Chippewa-branded Vibram sole. It has good traction, and doesn't clog up with mud, although I still prefer the lug sole. I don't think they make any lug or mini-lug soled boots any more.
Here is a page that shows some Chippewa engineer boots. http://www.bootsusa.com/Chippewa%20B...ngineer-1.html

I looked at that site last night. They sell blems at a good price.
I try to stick to the brick and mortar stores when I can. I like to try stuff on. I wear Chippewas to work. They still offer about 30 styles of lace ups made in the USA.
I'm kind of interested in the rally boot (27862) on page six of the link I pasted. Also, style 27899.
The best boots I have for riding are Danner Arcadia's. You fine tax payers bought them for me when I was active duty military. They are comfortable for walking, riding and water tight like a duck's ***. Cant be beat.
Just bought a pair of Wolverine Multishocks and they are sweet with a relatively short and painless break in time. Softened right up. Light weight, almost like sneakers. Good grip and good looking to boot. No pun intended... The last pair of wolverines I had were like wearing boat anchors on my feet so these were a nice suprise.
