Roads are pretty much straight down here in Savannah area,
Renting from SAV Harley you can go a few ways to Augusta area..
Here's a few choices
1. from the dealer I95 @Rt 204 go 204W,67,46,23,25.
Some towns along route, Pembroke,Metter,Millen. Standard 55MPH type road
2. Go 204W,about 6 miles to old river rd, over I-16 to Rt 80.
Same thing Stateboro, then into MIllen and rest towards Augusta.
Some 4 lane but nothing serious
3. Rt17, thru Guyton,Springfield, cross over into South Carolina and take
Rt 3 to estell, 125, to Augusta...this way is pretty out of the way in some parts for this area, but sometimes fast moving 2 lane traffic thru the Atomic plant area
Take A look A map and send me some of your thoughts on routes.
I'll be glad to help where I can

Oh; You'll have to come back down during the summer and ride it when its over 100 degrees. The gnats and mosquitoes will be out by then too so you will get the TRUE South Georgia experience. LOL
HHI is only about an hour and a half away. You could make a full day of it. While your in Savannah you have to eat at Love's Seafood. Excellent place to eat, and it's where the scene from Forrest Gump was shot when jenny was up on stage singing with her guitar
We rented a 2010 Road King. It had all the new bells and whistles on it. Cruise can be a good thing, 6 speed great power through 3 to 5, not too happy about the seat or the high revs on the new engine. Good solid bike with two up and had it rolling at 80mph. I am sure with temps over a 100....you just cant wait to head to the river.
