Default Oregon Coast

I'm starting to put a map together for my West ride.
What part of Oregon, south of Lincoln City has the best
coast ride to California. Fort Bragg is as far south as I
intend to go. Want to ride Avenue of the Giants before
heading east.

Thanks, Jim

Can't beat 101 down the Southern Oregon coast. You end up in the California redwoods.

Make sure when you get to Eureka CA you have a meal at the Somoa Cook House. It's an old lumber camp cook house that serves it's food on long tables family style. Lots of food and it's awesome.

When you get to Eureka the loop up Hwy 299 to Weaverville and back on Hwy 3 are worth it. It adds and extra 350 miles, but it is a beautiful tour of Humboldt County. The terrain will vary from steep valleys, rivers, and winding forests to farmland. I met some really cool people and had one of the best burgers I have ever tasted at a roadside grill built into an old trailer.

I just got back from the Redwood Run great time and great weather.Came back up the 101 and the Oregon coast to Florence OR then over to I-5 north home to Seattle .
Be sure to take The Avenue of The Giants it 's a road that runs parrel with the 101 it takes you thru the big redwooods.Lots of great riding in the area.
When you go into Oregon watch your speed as you come into the small towns.Just about every town is a speed trap .It goes from 55 down to 30 and the cops are there with radar .

If you make it all the way to Garberville, check out the "Lost Coast Highway". The road takes you up and over a coastal mountain range and along the Pacific with fantastic panoramic views.

Just heard about the Lost Coast and the Samoa Cookhouse,
added both to the map.

Thanks, Jim
