Through Mississippi (Jackson to Tupelo, etc.) and into TN. Anyone else been? Great ride, great scenery.

Yeah I rode it a couple of years ago, all 440 something miles of it. Nice, peaceful, really enjoyed it.

Will be heading back from Houston to Baton Rouge in a couple days then back to NC. In looking at the map it looks as if we can go north from Baton Rouge and pick up Natchez Trace. Can go up to Tenn and then across to NC.

What's the average speed limit? Would like to know if this is a viable route for the trip home.

Speedimit is 50 MPH. I usually run about 55-60 w/no problem. Don't know about your route though. I have run it up to Columbia TN and across to Chapel Hill. Good roads at least that far

bldap, yes it is a very nice trip to N.C. The wife and I have taken this route a few times. Take the Trace to Nashville (usually stay a night in Mumsfreeburrow (s?)) then head across country to Cherokee N.C. Of course you can also take interstate 40 from Nashville if time does not allow back roads, but we usually make very good time from Tenn. to Cherokee on back roads (roads between these two points were always in very good condition).

Ok ride -- good scenery -- but definitely not the route to choose if you need to get anywhere fast. Interesting historical information if you take time to stop at points of interest. Fuel and food stops need to be planned ahead as there are no travel plazas or restaurants along the way. We rode it, enjoyed it, but we don't necessarily need to ride it again.

I have rode the nothern 100 miles or so. I enjoyed it. I want to go back when I have time to ride the rest of it.
