Off Road
Thinking of adding a off road bike to the garage. Myself and a couple
friends are thinking about trailering to some areas to ride mainly off
road areas, dirt, gravel, trails, places we are missing when riding the
Harley's. Looks like alot of places near Ohio not to mention places
we'd like to go out west. Looking at DR and KLR 650's. Any of you
guys do this? Bike you like?
Thanks, Jim

I've always been a Honda person, so my vote would be for the XR650L if you are looking for a good, solid and dependable dual sport if you are lookin at KLR650s. Here in CA we have tons of places to ride, but my favorite place would have to be Mammoth Lakes CA. Tons of fireroads, trees and great views. I'm not too much of a single track trpe of rider. I'm presently riding a KTM 450 EXC
From what I seen, the KTM is a pretty badass bike. I'm
only considering the 650's cause it seems they'd be good
for getting out on the road between trails. Plan to be in
CA in 3-4 weeks to run the N. coast on a road trip.

There are some good buys on craigslist in my area. I'm
going to wait until winter and see what can be had. More
interested in 4 strokes. Had a Honda XL250 4 stroke years
ago, it was a blast.
