Did an Iron Butt ride from Bakersfield, CA to Port Angeles, WA. Left Bako at 5:30 on a Fri afternoon. Rode CA 99 to I-5. Then I-5 through Oregon to Washington. Picked up US 101 but made a wrong turn @ WA hwy 12. I guess fatigue had got the better of me at that point. The 12 took me across the bottom of the Olympic penninsula to the 101 again and made it to Port Angeles from there. Rolled in Sat. at 5:30pm. It's 1086 mi from my house to Port Angeles but the unintended detour ended up making it 1200 mi. Slept well that night. Spent the next day picking up t-shirts at Seattle dealerships and camped out on the WA coast. Spent the next 6 days making my way down the coastal route. Weather was nice and cool. Camped out and enjoyed the clean air. Xlnt roads in WA and OR with not much traffic.
