We left Thursday. Spent the night in Winner, SD. Got to Sturgis Friday pm. Stayed at Dave and Cindy's place behind Pamida, $25.00 per tent, per night. They are walking distance from Downtown Sturgis. Good place to camp, quiet at night.
Left last Wednesday, Got back yesterday......saw lots of bikers and trailers heading west.
Had a great time, my son road out with me for his 2nd rally.
What I will remember about this one is that it was dam HOT riding back through SD on I-90

You're both missing almost the entire rally. Why go out early and leave on the first day?

The week before you can enjoy riding to all the sights and monuments without the roads turning into parking lots. If you want to go for the parties and stay in the bars all week the the week off is the time to go.
By the way I got home Sat. the 7th after being in the area for 9 days. Lots going on but didnt have to deal with 800,000 others.
My bike is already on the way, push away from this desk and fly out Thursday for a week.. I am pumped!
Well, that was wrong... Supposed to have left for home today... Decided Monday to drop near a grand for a 1 way ticket on Sunday morning instead! Just too incredible...
Went out to Colorado on the 4th and came home through Sturgis on the 8th and stayed one night. Road into the Black Hills and had a very good time. Went into Coyote Ugly. That place was wild. Lots of things to see. Kind of expensive. Lots of people. 1 day is enough for me to get a t-shirt and say I have been there
Got back home last night after dead heading it back from Sturgis. Lots of "Rackage" pictures and great paint jobs as well. I will post a link to the pix as soon as I can get them off the camera.
