Default Sequoia or Zion in October

The wife and I are planning another road trip the first couple of weeks in October. I have searched the WWW for weather averages and ten day forcasts. Anyone have experience with weather conditions in Sequoia the first few weeks of October? We're planning on riding up to Three Rivers from the Lake Isabella area, are we going to freeze? Think we'd be better off heading east to Zion and Bryce? Anyone that may live close to Sequoia or have experience please offer your $.02

Thanks and ride safe

Bryce and the grnd escalades would be my choice. The grand canyon is a nice thow in.

The problem with your question is that the weather could do almost anything in October at either of the locations you mention. It's almost a flip of the coin. Three Rivers and the Sequoias could be a little cool or you could have snow. Zion and Bryce are the same, could be beautiful riding or it could get icy road conditions. The best thing you can do is to keep your eyes on the weather maps for extended conditions and plan accordingly.

We are going back there in mid-to late Oct. We will truck'it from Alberta down to St George, put our truck in storage and do the area for 2-3 weeks. We did it last year, the day ends early and we had real cold conditions at the higher altitudes. We have electric vests and heated grips. The return trip to Canada is seriously iffy weather, but once in the truck we enjoy the heat and are able to drink coffee while driving.

Very unlikely that you'll see snow in October in Sequoia or Lake Isabella. I'm in Bakersfield, if you need a local contact!
