I agree with Deadhawg. I would make sure to see Crater Lake in Oregon. Google it - generally regarded as one of the most beautiful places on Earth. My buddy did 23 states including Alaska last year and agreed that Crater Lake was the best part.

We rode out west from Oklahoma last year. We saw the Grand Canyon, Vegas, Kings Canyon and Yosemite in California was beautiful. Rode across the Golden Gate bridge and up highway 1 to Eureka. Lake Tahoe is incredible. Then across highway 50 which is the Lonliest road in America. Down the million dollar highway, stayed at Pagosa Springs, Colorado and then to Oklahoma. My favorite parts were the Giant Sequois in Kings canyon, Yosemite, and the Giant Redwoods in northern California. This summer we're headed to the tail of the dragon. Wherever you go you should have fun.

Deadhawg, you need to get out and ride more often (LOL). I would take this post seriously. This guy has been every where.

If you are starting in San Diego, The Pacific Coast Highway is a natural. Ride up to San Francisco, then detour inland to Yosemite National Park, up through Lake Tahoe, then Lassen National Park, then back to the coast on CA Highway 36. 36 is one of my all time favorite bike roads, I give it my highest recomendation - then up to Oregon and Washington. Head east through Washington and Idaho - Beartooth pass to Glacier National Park. From there, I'll let those with more experiance with the eastern half of the country chime in. Can't go wrong with the Blue Ridge Parkway though.
