My Florida riding advice:
1) Get an oil cooler.
2) Get a half-helmet.
3) Get fingerless gloves.
4) Get a mesh jacket for winter/summer.
5) Avoid I-4
6) Take a trip around Lake Okeechobee!
7) Ride The Keys!
I have rode my bike just about everywhere in the State you can ride. From where you will be check out Cedar Key up 19, Brooksville area, Ocala, Swanee (just north of Chiefland), Zepherhills, New Port Richy Jump on 54 or 56 head east, Mount Dora, High Springs, Lake City, 301 to Jacksonville and on and on. There really is no place too far from where you are unless you head to Pensacola or the Keys. Head south hit the Skyway Bridge and on to Bradenton Beach area. There are so many place you can ride to the best way to find them is when you get here jump on the bike and ride. Drop me a note if you have questions on any of the areas.
Some of the best riding, IMO, is out near Doc's place, in the central part of the state. You want to find the one and only hill in FL, head to Sugarloaf Mountain. Fun twisties around there.
Grab yourself a detailed FL map or download Google Earth and just explore. FL does have some roasd that laydown bikers won't even discuss on a forum.
FOR LOCAL AND AROUND THE STATE, CHECK OUT BORN TO RIDE MAGAZINE ON THE WEB, SLICK SCOOTERS SCHEDULE,,, LOTS OF WHERE VENTS ARE AT AND THE DATES, MOSTLY SATURDAYS AND SUNDAYS,,, PRETTY GOOD SITE,, IMO hope this will help www.scooterschedule.com/floridaevents.htm
