Leaving SC Thursday morning....deciding if we should take 81 or 95. This will be my third trip and look forward to it every year. Get there early. I am with Rolling Thunder and we are the third bunch out....normally 30 -45 minutes after it starts....12 noon. Last year there was an estimated 950,000 bikes and this year I am sure it will be over a million. On Friday 5/27 there is a candle lite vigil at the Wall at 2100 (9:00)...plan on attending.

staying in Falls Church, heading back monday....
been there 5 times and i can predict the dc weather, hot, humid, chance of thunder every afternoon.. maybe i will be surprised this year!

No surprises this year on the weather JOHNPEM, partly cloudy, 90+ degrees and afternoon thunderstorms. Bring pleanty of water, going to be another long hot wait. Good luck on your ride from NY, down through PA should make for a great trip, just be warned that Gettysburg on Memorial day weekend is usually very heavy traffic. I am headed into DC from north MD at 3am to join in with the Wounded Warrior Ride program. I have the honor of giving a ride to a wounded Warrior to the White House this year. Being a VET myself I still feel it is a privledge to serve those who have made the sacrifice for our Nation. See you all there HDF members.

Im hoping if we leave DC early Monday morning, that we might miss the heavier traffic. Then again, thats probably what everyone else is thinking.
Anyone know if Fast Lane transponders work on all of 81 in PA? They work on the PA turnpike, but im not sure if 81 is considered the PA pike.

My dad will be riding his Heritage Softail Classic from Ohio to meet me in Frederick, MD. We'll be riding together along with many others from the Frederick HD dealership on Sunday. This is my first year, and I can't wait!
