Default My friends suck!

I went to Sturgis last year alone, and it looks like I will be going solo again this year. Just wondering if anyone is riding through or near Omaha, NE and would like to meet up for the ride up and possibly hang in the Sturgis area. I have 2 weeks off for the rally and am staying at the Brokenspoke. I had a great time last year, but it would be nice to have to not try and make friends while I am up there.

I'll be picking up 29 just north of Omaha, but I'm going to be in Sturgis Aug 1-3.

For riders coming from the south or the east, parts of I-29 between the Missouri/Iowa line and Sioux City, Iowa will be under water most of the summer. Check for alternate routes.

Haak, I feel your pain. Most of my long distance rides have been solo. I can't begin to count how many "bikers" I know with a complete collection of H-D tee shirts, shot glasses and 2,000 miles on their bikes.

You have to start looking for "riders". They may even be on BMW's or Wings. I mean think about it, your a long one day ride from Sturgis. There's no reason for not riding there. Your friends don't suck. They are candy *** posers. Something tells me that if you had a 40 foot RV with A/C, a beer stocked fridge and a enclosed trailer to pull the bikes your buddies would somehow want to "do" to Sturgis.

That's why I LOL when I see the, are you a biker or poser threads. You are either a rider or not. If you have all the gear and only ride a few miles to the local hangout then you are a poser. If your bike and teeth are splattered with bugs then your a rider. The term biker is stupid. Rant over, have a great time.

A little 400 mile detour and you have a passenger wanting a ride to Sturgis.

I feel your pain..
I'd rather travel with a small group then solo. Don't like talking to myself when I stop.

I'd go but I've already planned a trip up there July 9th with two friends. Want to see the country but not with all those folks in it.

Hope you find someone going..

did you looks at the thread in this forum titled "whos going to sturgis check in here"? -- I'd say that's your best bet to hook up with people from this forum in Sturgis. Good luck.

A long trip for my friends is 150 mile poker run. I have 27K on my 09 train (bought in Aug 09). Two of the guys have rocker garage ornaments, (what I call them) the guy with the 08 has 3k on his and the guy with the 09 has 4k. They should buy a poster of their rockers, hang it on the wall and save themselves $17k.
I am looking at going to street vibrations in Reno next June, too far my friends say. Anyone wanna road trip it out there with me? I am from NV and would like to go, or is there any other road trips anyone is looking at doing next year?
