I went to Sturgis last year alone, and it looks like I will be going solo again this year. Just wondering if anyone is riding through or near Omaha, NE and would like to meet up for the ride up and possibly hang in the Sturgis area. I have 2 weeks off for the rally and am staying at the Brokenspoke. I had a great time last year, but it would be nice to have to not try and make friends while I am up there.
haak30 at least you have friends that ride. I have been riding for almost 20 years and none of my close friends have ever been interested (or had the guts) in riding motorcycles.

Little off topic from the OP's initial posting...but we had the same problem. One couple we rode with moved across country...another friend lost his bike in the recession. Another couple we rode with adopted bad attitudes with most of their friends, and we stopped riding with them.
We joined the HOG group...and now we get calls all the time from new friends wanting to ride. Try that and you'll find riding friends all the time.
To the OP...try your local HOG group...we have quite a few leaving from our chapter going to Sturgis, I imagine most are the same. Or, try putting a note up on the local dealer's community cork board...you may find others looking for riding partners up there as well.
