To all, Anyone from the Va. or N.C. area going to Sturgis this year or next year? wife doesn't want me going alone. plan on riding out and back. different routes each way. tent camping when I get there. just about every room is booked this year and filling up for next year already. taking two weeks maybe three if anyone wants to ride to Yellowstone or glacier national park. would entertain the idea of trailering bikes if you cant ride the trip. don't get me wrong, I like to ride. I rode out there back in 06 so I've done it already.
Starman Me and a few will be riding out in 2015, did it in 2013 also. Dont know if theres just one thread for folks riding up from fla but ill keep my eyes open for one. Anyway if your still looking remember my screen name. Had a group back out last year and almost did it solo, wouldn't be to bad either...
A good buddy of mine and myself are planning on going. This would be my first trip to sturgis and I'm ready for a serious ride. All for the tent camping idea. Heck i'd even sleep on the bike if it came down to it. I'm in N.C. winston area
Carolina thunder,
im planning on leaving around the 25th(Saturday) and getting there on the 30th(Thursday). leaving the next Thursday and getting home on sunday. I've did it before back in 06. the days are subject to change how ever, I want to ride to Yellowstone.
was planning on tent camping also, but I got on a waiting list last july and got the call about a cabin available at days end campground in nov. so I jumped on it. I have ex-military friends from other states who want in and am planning on meeting them there. have been looking for people to ride with out there so the wife wont worry. doesn't mind me going just not alone.
anyways, about tent camping, do it! most campgrounds serve breakfast and dinners. also, a lot of breakfast buffets when you get out on your bike in the morning and ride.
will keep you in mind when i get solid dates on riding out there.
