Default Trip

Last year I rode my 09 Heritage from Las Vegas nv to PA and back. Round trip a little over 5500 miles. The bike had no problems, it actually seemed to purr cruising around 70 mph. The ride was very comfortable, I did have a back rest, got one from firehouse customs, and that saved my back. I did limit myself to no more than 500 mikes per day. I wasn't in any rush and I knew I could handle this very well. I was also amazed at how well the bike handled in the rain. I had rain for almost 5 days in a row, I did dial down the speed to 60 on the interstates but it tracked very well. In my opinion for me the Heritage is a great "touring" bike as well as a cruiser. It fits my body type (short and fat) and loves the open road. So I would say do it. You'll enjoy it and as one poster said after you get home you will be planning the next trip, I know I am.

As others have said the bike is more than adequate for the trip... I've ridden my Heritage across the country a couple of times. Plus I ride it to Sturgis every year.

There are two things that I have done for my comfort...

Changed the stock bars to Road King High handlebars and got rid of the stock seat and replaced it with a corbin seat with back rest.

enjoy your ride...

I've done two cross country trips on my Heritage in the past three years. The bike is more than capable of this and is quite comfortable. Make sure you have good tires and brakes before leaving. I travel on the old Routes, not the super slab. On both trips I had to swap out a rear tire but no other issues. Go for it and have a good time.

I did 2200 miles on a Superglide 2 months after I bought it. Packed it so I had something to lean on and away I went. Very comfortable. Did 2500 on my fatboy same way. No problems.
