If you are looking for a little history and a cool place there are two that come to mind first. The Historic Franklin or Bullock Hotels. In the day Presidents have stayed in the Franklin...Big and Rich filmed one of their videos from the deck. The Bullock was built by one of Deadwoods influential in the day...both are pretty neat. Otherwise anything in town is pretty similar!

Go 2 miles up the road to lead SD and stay at the Old Town Hall Inn. I stayed htere last year and it is very cool. It is an old city hall that has been made into a motel. You will like it.

Sorry, can't reccomend a place to stay, but I do reccomend eating at Kevin Costner's restaurant. Forgot the name of it, but I'm sure anyone in town can tell you the name of it. Lots of coole memorabilia there and a pretty neat place as far as atmosphere goes too.

i stayed at the super 8, it was nice, continental breakfast, shuttle into town so you can avoid drunkriding, hot tub, pool, mini casino, mini restaurant, and a friendly staff also

Believe the name is Midnight Star or something like this? There are actually two places owned by him (one more of a bar setting and the other more formal) and they are located above Saloon Number 10. Pretty easy to find..

We just got back from there. We stayed at the Mineral Palace right on Main. It wasn't cheap, but it does have covered bike parking in the back. We really appreciated that during the hail storm.

Costners place is the Midnight Star, I highly recommend, it's not above the #10 though.

Whatever you do, be sure to go into the saloon where Wild Bill was killed. Don't worry, you can't miss it, if you do step into another, He was killed in all of them
