I like to do the bulk of my riding and site-hoping during the day, then hit Main Street in the evening. I've stayed on A1A south of Main Street a few times. It's a bit quieter in the evenings. There are a ton of properties to choose from. Close enough to everything and an easy ride or Uber to Main Street.
I was just in Daytona a couple weeks ago albeit via airplane. We stayed a week with friends who rent a condo on the beach in New Smyrna but alas they'll be headed to Hawaii from there on March 2nd and so it goes. It's a ride I hope to make but won't be this year.
As said. All in what you want to do. I have been going for years, this year I am camping at Cackleberry campground. Have not done that yet. I figure I will ride and visit places during the day then park the bike and party at the camp. Not hard to walk to my tent.hahaha
Stayed 30 minutes outside of Daytona last year. Had fun but couldn't really enjoy Main St. Got a hotel on the beach within walking distance of Main St this year. Will ride around and check things out during the day and then drink and people watch on Main St in the evening. Riding down from DE.
I,ve stayed at Driftwood resort, 657 S Atlantic Ave. , Ormond by the Sea, fl. nice place. Charlie Horse resturant walking distance.
Angelina Guest House in Key West. 2 blocks off of Duvall St, halfway between Mallory Square and the southern most point. Awesome

I go for 3 days, and always stay at Cackleberry.. Ride down alone from NC and set up camp and never touch the bike until I'm ready to head home. Between them and the Cabbage Patch across the street, there's plenty of things to do new friends to make
last few years I take the week off for vacation. I live in Winter Haven. I always just watch the weather and just go on day or days with no chance of rain. Im close enough to ride over and back each day I attend.
Even though its always a Ground Hog Day repeat each year, it's still enjoyable for the ride and people watching.
