Default Branson????

Road trip coming up. Is Branson, Mo. a bike friendly town and if so where would be a good place to stay? Nothing fancy. Also, recommended stuff to do. Will be there only a day or two.

Thanks

We do travel to Branson because it is fairly close. There is some nice riding around the area but traffic jams can be an issue. We normally stay at the carriage house inn if is off the main street therefore less likely to be stuck in traffic not much for amenities but clean and reasonably priced we don't spend much time in the room. There are taxis that are reasonably priced for nights out . Some nice attractions to visit some pretty good winery's tondo some touring and tasting

We always stayed at the Fall Creek Inn with our car club related stuff. Off the beaten path so less traffic and good prices. Nice rooms too. Haven't been there on the bike since I'm a bike newb, so can't really answer that part of your question other than the main drag is stop and go almost all day on weekends. The highlight of our last trip was definitely the Titanic Museum. Ride the Ducks is a blast too. There's ducks on the main drag, but also some down at the landing that aren't quite as busy but just as fun in my opinion. I thought the Ripley's Believe It or Not Museum was laughable at best and definitely not worth the time or money. The Wax Museum is kinda corny, but fun for the picture opportunities. Dixie Stampede is a good dinner/show also.

They had some tornadoes go through there recently too and I've heard that a lot of stuff is closed and/or gone completely. I haven't been since that happened, so not sure what all was damaged but it might be worth looking into.

Just returned from Branson last weekend. Some tornado damage but most of the tourist venue's are open. Didn't ride my bike but I would say anything outside of downtown Branson (Main Street) would be a good ride. Personally I enjoyed doing Scenic Hwy 7 from Harrison, AR to Interstate 30 South of Hotsprings. Quite a few great rides towards Eureka Springs and Fayetteville, AR. I would recommend staying away from Main Street during the weekend. You will be sitting in traffic on a hot motorcycle, no fun at all. Sorry, can't vouch for a reasonable place to stay. We stayed at the La Quinta on Main Street for $69.95 per night plus tax. Convienent to everything but the rooms were well used and showed it. AC was great though and brightside breakfast adequate.

I live just north of Branson and rode a little circle that's popular with the natives this past weekend.

Note: do not stay on Highway 76 or ride down 76 between 10am and 10pm it is a traffic jam. however there are roads to the north and south of 76 that are normally much quieter, just pick up a guide book somewhere, there is always a map in it.

Here's the approximate route I took:

I just wouldn't recommend a motorcycle ride through Branson. To much traffic in Branson. Go a little further south and stay in Arkansas. No helmet law. Some really great rides in north west Arkansas and not a lot of traffic.
