I am heading on a road trip across the country from September 7th throught September 23rd. 4 of us are going and we all have grow up together (Jr High days). We are in our mid 40's now.
We will be going through TN, AR, OK, NM, UT, NV, CA, AZ, TX, LA, MS, AL and back to TN. We have no plans just a direction and we didn't want to miss out on anything that might be happening during the same time.
Any input or suggestions that anyone might have please let me know via replies or PM. We go on a ride each year but usually only 4 to 6 days.
I look forward to hearing your suggestions and direction.
Going at the same time except going to Black Hills, Beartooth pass, drop down thru Wind River to Colorado, thru Northern New Mexico then back home thru Texas.. May swing by La. for my 40th High School Reunion.. No reservations and may reverse the order just for fun..This is a riding trip and do not have plans to visit anything particular but have time to stop and smell the roses or cow lots
If you're willing to get off of I-40 in OK, down I-44 before you get to Lawton is Medicine Park, a pretty little town with beautiful surroundings (Wichita Mt.s Wildlife Preserve) then I would hit Palo Duro Canyon/Caprock before getting back to Amarillo northward or else work toward Lubbock/Roswell/Ruidoso/White Sands. That's just what I would do. I am hoping for a Glacier Park trip around the same time, but afraid I will get shut down with snow. Summer deployments... :-(
