My Route 66 trip commenced 25 May through 14 June. Weather was perfect. We crossed the Mojave at 4:00 PM and it was 121 degrees LOL. Stop often to rehydrate and enjoy the ride!

i have my opinion of rt. 66 which is not the same as a lot of others. what i would suggest is using Google earth to see what this trip will actually be like. their are so many great road trips to take I'd hate to see you take the perhaps once in a lifetime trip and do a ride that, IMO is not even a top 50 us ride. think instead blue ridge parkway, west coastal hiway, almost anyplace in Colorado(if you do a Colorado trip you could still pick up the best of rt.66 in AZ,
just my thoughts , and yes i guess i am a rt. 66 hater, not that there are not some cool stuff but it is few and far far between.

That's a good decision. FWIW my wife and I were in Istanbul, Ephes and Capaddocia mid-May through Mid-June
last year so it seems to be a good time for traveling in these latitudes world-wide..

I have to agree with a couple of comments here. See the Billy Connely film! Route 66 while special is not the greatest ride in America by far. I know it can be threatening to ride in foreign lands so a "route" along one road seems safe and do-able. But I'd consider a more northerly route. Too much to cover in this post, but if you are open to suggestions say so and we'll try to give you a more rewarding experience.
