Hermann, I have 14,000 miles on my new Limited that got delivered in mid May!! So I am fully recovered from my accident and am really back in the saddle again!
Yep, I found you can really ride some miles in western Canada and Alaska. The long summer days and beautiful scenery makes the time and miles go by so fast.
Did you do any "ditch camping" on the trip? Gotta watch out for grizzlies!! I stopped and took pictures of one just on the other side of Whitehorse on my trip in 2010. How did you like riding up the Dalton Highway? Did you all turn around at the Arctic Circle? I can see that your Deluxe was pretty muddy in the pic there!! I want to go back to Alaska again. Maybe in 2014, BUT I do not plan to ride up the Dalton again!!
I am planning to do the USA 4 Corners tour (http://sc-ma.com/rides/usa-four-corn...r-ride-summary) leaving the last week of May 2013. Another friend from Richmond is going with me. That will be my big trip for 2013.
Thanks for posting. I enjoyed the pics. I grew up in Southcentral Alaska in the Anchorage/Palmer/Wasilla area. The pics brought back some good memories. I appreciate it.
Hey Steel Steed the apes on the RK are 12.5" Chubby bars. Randy says they are comfy.
Jim, you have been riding. The four corners looks like quite a ride,,have fun. If you do make it up this way again the door is open, make sure you stop in.
We only went as far as the Arctic Circle. The Dalton wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. We saw quite a few bear griz and black, lots of buffalo. When I was coming back I camped along the side of the road, I was to cold to go farther. When I got going a couple hours later there was ice on my tent fly and on my backrest. It was a cold way to start that morning. On my second fuel stop at Watson Lake the gas station had a restaurant. The bacon and eggs smelt good and made me remember I didn't eat the day before. The coffee and food were good and gave me a chance to warm up. It's all an adventure.

That must have been a hell of a ride. It's not like Alberta is short of scenery to begin with I can just imagine how nice it would be riding through the Rockies.
Post up more pictures if you can. Would love to see them.
Sounds great, would love to do that trip. What you did right was to marry a woman who would let you go on that trip without her. What you did wrong was go on that trip without her. Now she's in NZ for a month without you. LOL
