I plan on going to several rallies this summer, as many as possible.
Probably won't be going out of state this year since $ is kinda tight.
I'd like to find out about more of them and hopefully find a group to ride with.
I live near Bridgewater, Iowa so if you're anywhere close or know of a riding club or group (or want to put one together) that's planning on going to any of these please let me know.
So far I plan on going to:
Hog Wild Rodeo May 15-18 (Conesville)
A.B.A.T.E. of Iowa Freedom Rally July 4-6 (Algona)
Across The Border Raid August 1-3 (Bedford)
Yeah you usually won't find it on a map being such a small town. It's in SW Iowa about 15 miles west of Greenfield on highway 92. It's probably easier to do a search with Google or Mapquest to find it.
too bad your so far from my home town of charles city . i'm looking for ppl to ride with also. i plan on contacting the dealerships for rallys . i'm in mn now.
Came across a flier for a charity poker run May 11th in Gravity, Iowa. Another very small town, but I seem to like those smaller ones anyway.
There is also a poker run & bike show in Jefferson on June 8th which would be closer for those from the Des Moines area. It's part of their Bell Tower Festival.
Anybody go to the Iowa Grand Rally in Newton last summer?
Thinking about going to it this year, but not if its "policed" too much.
You should check out circleofpridemc.com local mc that put on a couple of great rallies on each end of summer. They own a nice chuck of land and the have built a drag strip and bars on the property, plenty of room for camping. They do a nice job. Centally located, easy ride from just about anywhere in Iowa.
Anyone been to the hillclimb thats scheduled for June 2nd? Thinking of riding up for the swap meet on the same weekend. Wondering if this is the
one J&P Cycles puts on.
Had my first experience with the J&P Cycle open house last year in Anamosa. I have to say the the wife and I had a good time. A lot of good vendors. As a matter of fact we're going back again this year. I've heard that Circle of Pride is good too - but was warned to tread lightly there.
