The Northern Rockies are in Montana, not Idaho. I think northern Idaho would have some superb riding.
Actually the Rockies are the border between Mt. & Id. up untill they split off with the Bitterroot Range. Then the Bitterroots are the Border. Your right that the very Northern Rockies are in Montana due to a Surveyors mistake.
Someday I'd like to maybe trailer to St Lake City and then ride to L.A. and the up the CA, OR, WA coastline and then over through ID and back to St Lake City.
I've done these areas before only at different times.
I barely put my bike in to Idaho on a trip thru the Tetons and Yellowstone so I really cant say I have seen much of it from the saddle. Will brush up on the geography but it looks like the most scenic may be way up there at the top of the handle....good excuse to drop over in to Oregon and Washington. So little time with so many places to go!!
95 south from Lewiston goes through the Salmon river canyon and it is beautiful
but how are you going to get me a cold beer when I come through Abert turkey if
you are in Idaho
