In the last two days I have been over Beartooth Pass, and today I rode the Chief Joseph highway. Granted the weather was terrible yesterday on Beartooth, and I couldn't see much at the top, but CJH today was literally twice as nice scenery wise. BP is pretty crazy, going that high up, where CJH is more relaxed. I love having the opportunity to do both, but after the ride today I'm surprised CJH gets less headlines. Simply amazing to see all I've seen so far, not sure anything can too today
Just spent a great four days in the Tri-Cities are of Washington state, and tomorrow it's back to the road. I'm beginning the last leg of the trip home, and I'm really contemplating trading my Heritage on an Ultra Limited on the way. Touring bike is in my future for sure after this trip, although the bike I have has run like a champ. Gonna be good to return to Canada, but I will be back in the USA again soon
Hope you enjoyed the adventure! You had quite the list there and a hell of a lot of add-ins from members but that's why I enjoy reading through these. Get the info from someone who has rode through an area. As for the bike, you gotta keep your first HD! My Deluxe has taken me on two trips in the last two years; 15 days-6000 miles to the Pacific NW and just got back from a 8 day-4400 mile trip to the New England area. Tinker with it and you'll be able to ride it anywhere once it's comfy for you.
It's been a fantastic trip, made much better with the contributions from members here! As far as the bike goes, I guess I will find out today. It's not that it doesn't work, more like I would like the added comforts. I've put over 23,000km on it in just over a year (including 7 months of no riding in winter) and the Heritage has run absolutely great. Certainly hesitant to let go of a bike that has given me no problems.
