My buddy and I are planning to fly to Miami and rent a couple of HD's from Eagle Rider and then head to the Keys for 4 days.
Looking for some info on good (nice but cheap) places to stay and really cool places to visit and any motorcycle related info that you can pass on
Thanks

When will you come? I would check with Peterson Hd for your rentals, they have new bike and eagle rider does not. Mid week special three days $275. The weather is in the 70's now, awesome riding.
We were hoping to not make to many plans but are interested in the best motorcycle road (lest traffic) best view from Miami to the keys once in the keys to have no time limit at any one place ...we like we stay ...we no like we no stay.....woulds like to visit interested out of the way spots away from bus loads of tourists other than that it's just warm warm ride ride...oh it's -23 C here....lol
as Jonesee said...nice but cheap is hard to find.....most "good" hotels are booked in advance in winter at least one to two weeks out......most places we stay in the winter season cost around 100 bucks plus......we have found it to be cheaper to stay in the middle Keys rather than in Key West......
from Mia to KW is about a 4 hour ride depending on traffic and stops......during the week is better than the weekend if you have that option.......
another option for flying in would be to fly into Fort Lauderdale and rent from eagle in town.....about a mile from the airport......

Best road: US A1A south into the keys. Card sound road for a distraction. Every road in south Florida is slammed with traffic. Even at 3am in the morning. Stay on the turnpike as much as possible. Stay in a hotel or bar during rush hours. (A1A doesn't really have a rush hour, can be slow at any time. Friday nights and Sunday afternoons are packed on A1A.)
Best View Of Miami: Window of a banking plane landing at Miami International at night. Other than that, from I-95 looking to your left as you go south. Beware of the traffic though. If you are going to venture into the city, cruise South Beach on a weekend night. Cruise A1A in Lauderdale on a weekend night. (Any night in Lauderdale, stop at Elbo Room for a beer. Send me a note, I will buy the first round)
Out of the Way Spots: Card Sound Road and stop at Alabama Jacks, Key Largo for a meal or drinks. (old bars are always the best). Ride 90/41/Tamiani Trail west across the everglades. In Key West stop at Schooners Wharf for a local spot to have a bite and a beer.
That will get you started. Let me know what other questions you have.
Thanks guys .....booked the flights arrive Miami Jan 21 and pick up bikes at 4:30pm and riding, no real plans after that, but sounds like the keys is very very busy with traffic? I'm I correct helmets optional ? It also appears there is only one road from North to south is that correct, seems wierd though!
Jonesee send me your e mail or number I can text you for that first round....lol
Thanks for the info
