Thunder Beach Spring 2014...

Some friends and I are going this spring and I just wanted to see who else plans on going. Also, this is our first time down for Thunder Beach so it would be nice to hear what others recommend to do. I am somewhat familiar with the area and have rode it many times on the bike, but usually just on hwy. 98. Leaving Northwest Ohio on the morning of the 29th if you need some riding partners.

Google "The Outpost" in Freeport, FL. About a 30 to 40 minute ride from the Thunder Beach venues.

My favorite ride is heading west on 98 and then veering off on 30A through some cool little towns. You run into 98 again and keep heading west and hang a left on Scenic Gulf Drive right as you get into Destin. And then on the way back swing north and hit the Outpost for some cold beer and hanging out. Heading east to Appalachicola on 98 is a good ride too.

Thx for the info. I grew along the coast of Mississippi so i know that area well. I spent alot of time at the beach in florida but never went exploring much.

Get your fill of raw oysters. If we go again, we said we would rent something on the beach, take chairs and sit out by the road, drink beer and look at the bikes go by.

Yeah, I forgot to mention oysters. Excellent oysters on the cheap at the right place. Last time we went we rented a place next door to Salty Goat saloon and every afternoon we'd end up back at the condo and take the chair out front and drink beer while we watched the show pass back and forth. Good times.
