Yes, this time of year, South. How far do you want to ride each day?

Too early to tell. Intuitively I would say south like the Blue Ridge Pkwy. But, for short trips like that, I look at where the weather is the best and head there. Who knows, it could be hail storms south and beautiful weather in upstate NY. In that case, I would head north.

Interesting thread breeze.....thanks for your input. I had heard about the pa grand canyon. Seems like a perfect long weekend trip. How long you figure it will take you to get to lake Erie ? Where ya leaving from? Know I'm thinking maybe shoot for buffalo NY. I've always wanted to try the wings at the Anchor Bar!

Since were in North Jersey well most likely be taking rt23 north and cut through High Point state park, then pick up rt6 near Milford and stay on 6 the whole way. According to google maps were probably looking at a good 7 and a half hours from Milford to the town of Erie. Were shooting for a 4 day weekend and camping out along the way. Let me know if you end up heading out that way! Now that you mentioned the Anchor bar I'll have to put that on my short list as well!

Best of luck man.

From NJ......i'd go to Lake George....to Lake Champlain take the ferry across it to the green mountains of Vermont then back towards NJ....zig zagging the upper portion of the Hudson River...lots of great stops in those parts of the country.
All doable in 4 days...
