We just got home. We rode the Trace from Natchez up to Tupelo, MS. Had to cut the last day off due to heavy storms moving in the following few days.
The Trace is a very beautiful ride. It was still spring, so it wasn't as green as summer would be. It was nice to set the cruise on 50 and look at the scenery.
The only time traffic got heavy was around the bigger cities. The locals use it as a highway and some of them haul ****. Luckily, being spring, the traffic wasn't bad at all overall.
Wow, just posted link to one of our trips to Arkansas here, I wanted to post another link which is right here on the Harley Forum that we posted a few years ago pertaining to this subject. We made the Natchez Trace trip 3 times now. I am going to post the link which is here on this forum, it's a few years old, but may help you out. It's a page on our web site (we promote motorcycle riding and trips) we have some links for you on this page, pictures little write up and our home video o the trip. I seen where someone mentioned country store..... He is RIGHT!!! If you like eating like I do .... that's the best fried chicken, and we even had Mr. D (I think that's his names) sing us his song.... Here is the links:
Being from MS, I've used the Trace many time when getting there was not in a hurry. Always in a cage. Last week in April I have a conference in Nashville and plan a South to North and return trip on the trace. 6 speed will get hung up in 5th for the trip. I test road a new Indian Classic yesterday and you could hit 6th at about 45 with no lugging. That was nice. Mine needs to be at about 60 to shift up to 6th gear.
Plan on the General Jackson cruise, some sporting clays and a Lynchburg tour and dinner while in the area.
