Default Natchez Trace Trip

Planning a trip on the Natchez Trace in March. Going from the southern end to the northern end. Anyone done this and got any advice for places to stay along the way or sites to see?

Both of these are off the trace but:

Try to eat at The Old Country Store:

I have never eaten there but it gets lot of publicity.

Visit Windsor Castle in the same area:

Stayed in Tupelo one time, lots of motels. Tupelo, the birthplace of Elvis Presley.

I rode north-to-south on my bike in 2000.
I stayed near Tupelo (in a dry county) for one night then headed east the following day.

Ran from south-to-north in with another couple (in our convertibles) in 2009.
Nice, pleasant 50 MPH drive from Natchez to the Nashville area.

For civil war buffs there's lots to see.

Rode North to South a few years ago. First day from Nashville to Jackson. 2nd day was Jackson to Natchez. Nice ride. We spent the night in Jackson.

Tupelo is not dry anymore. Been there a few times recently for work, and have had more than my share of alcohol.

You should make the little side trip to Vicksburg if civil war stuff interests you.

Natchez is a great ride and you must stop at French Camp for lunch. (biker friendly). Very close to mile post 180. I make this trip 2 times every year and I prefer to camp. Free camping is at Jeff Busby and Meriwether Lewis.

I rode the Natchez Trace Parkway South to North last year. An excellent road with no commercial traffic. We stayed the night in Tupelo and hit the Elvis Presley museum the following morning before continuing on to Nashville. At the end of the Natches Trace highway is a place called the Loveless Cafe ( I believe). Great food!

Plan your gas stops. Few stations are on the Trace, and thoes that are not are another 20 miles.

Its a great ride, watch your speed.

I was just watching a very nice Youtube video on this a few days ago about some people in a group making the Natchez Trace trip along with Providence Canyon in Georgia. I can't search it and link it on this work computer but it was easy to find. I have been wanting to do a southern ride in combination with some Blue Ridge Mountain area stuff.
